Get a Look at the Future of PEG OTT

 

We'll chat about the future of PEG and what the City of Las Vegas is doing to stay ahead of the Over The Top Cord-Cutters and look at the future of livestreaming too. Then we'll tour KCLV's HD studio.  We've been cablecasting in HD on Cox and CenturyLink since 2012.

Convention Center:  Drive north on Paradise until you reach the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd. and Main Street.  Cross over LV Blvd. and continue north on Main Street, then turn left at Clark into the City's 5 story parking garage at 500 S. Main Street (x Clark Ave.).  Bring your ticket with you to KCLV for validation. 2-hour validation available when you park in our City garage.

Taking the bus:  Jump on SDX Strip & Downtown Express heading north.  From the L.V. Convention Center you'll get off at the Bonneville Transit Center (BTC) which is only 4 stops away.  Then walk one block north on 1st Street to City Hall.

Livestreaming 

Join SCAN NATOA as we take a look at how local channels are using livestreaming to expand the reach of their programming efforts. Our panel has used a wide range of what is available on the market today. Hear how they are using livestreaming, along with what is and isn't working. 

 

Speakers and Topics: 

Jack Chin, General Manager, SFGovTV, City and County of San Francisco, will talk about how their channel is using Wirecast. 

Jeremy Stout, Applications Programmer, LA CityView 35, City of Los Angeles, is using Wowza to make it possible to be on multiple social media accounts at the same time with one feed. Los Angeles City Councilmember offices are loving being able to use LA CityView's 8-camera HD feed for their Facebook pages and going live from Council meetings. The channel has experimented with Blackmagic, the Aja Helo and Ncast Hydra and will share their experiences. 

Ed Wilson, City of Torrance, has used a variety of products including Livestream (multicamera sports), Facebook Live (speeches and promotions), Periscope (speeches), and the MiFi 4G network with a single field camera to studio for live remotes (news). 

Come early and tour the LA CityView new Council Coverage System and Master Control! 

The meeting is at the Tom Bradley Tower Room at City Hall. The room features one of the best views of Los Angeles with its 27th floor location and observation deck!

The entrance to City Hall is on Main Street and you will need a government ID to check-in. Allow time for parking and to get in the building, thanks for your patience, it will be worth it! 

The closest parking is at the Los Angeles Mall: 

225 N. Los Angeles St., public parking on P1 Level, Monday – Friday, 5 A.M. – 6 P.M. (Vehicles left in the garage after 6 P.M. may be cited and towed). The rate is $2.50 each 20 minutes, to a maximum of $16.00 per day. Early Bird rate is $8.50 - enter before 8 am. Once you park on the P-1 level, the best thing is to get to the street level and cross Main Street to check in to City Hall. 

The most reasonably priced parking is two blocks away, at Lot 2, 300 E. Temple St., Flat rate of $8.00 Monday – Friday, 5 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
